Description:
The Carlson School of Management, a division of the University of Minnesota provides graduate studies in business management and administration. Through it's executive mentor program, consulting field project, and internships, the Carlson School is considered by many to be on of the best MBA programs in the country.

The Challenge:
The Carlson School of Management's web site needed a professional face-lift so to speak. The site overused poorly designed animated images, the university's mascot (a gopher), and backgrounds that did not mirror its new state-of-the-art facility and nationally recognized curriculum. They wanted the site to help attract high-quality MBA students and position them as a leader in graduate studies in business management and administration.

Our Solution:
After meeting with a team from Carlson we decided that it was necessary that the site more accurately reflected the programs' professional expansion. We believed the first step was to simplify its design. With the use of color and consistent high-quality images this goal was achieved. We then continued these themes through out the site, simplifying at each level. These steps, along with a site index, in turn made the site easier to navigate for students and alumni. Carlson, like many of our clients, wanted to be able to update content and page creation after the redesign was complete. Therefore, we produced several simple sub-page templates for them and trained their staff on how to produce new pages that stayed consistent with the site's improved look and feel.
